Construction Spending Up 0.8% In September

(RTTNews) -  The U.S. Commerce Department revealed that construction spending rose 0.8 percent in September. This followed a 0.1 percent decline in August and a 1.2 percent slide in July.

Private construction was up 0.5 percent, following up on a 0.4 percent rise in the previous month. Residential construction, a key measure for the home building industry, showed a 3.9 percent advance for September. This followed a 3.4 percent rise in August.

Government construction was up 1.3 percent, bouncing back from a 1.1 percent drop in the previous month.
