Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller's adaptation of "21 Jump Street" is set for release on DVD and Blu-Ray on June 26. The film stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, Brie Larson, Dave Franco, Ellie Kemper, Rob Riggle and Ice Cube.
The comedy is based on the 1987 television series of the same name by Stephen J. Cannell and Patrick Hasburgh. The show launched the career of Johnny Depp and centered on a young police officer who is forced to return to high school to break up a drug ring.
Thus far the film has grossed $137,982,550 in the North American with a total of $192,251,933 earned worldwide. The film has also earned generally positive critical feedback, with MetaCritic.com writing: "A smart, affectionate satire of '80s nostalgia and teen movie tropes, 21 Jump Street offers rowdy mainstream comedy with a surprisingly satisfying bite.” |
