"Seeking a Friend for the End of the World," the sentimental apocalyptic farce from helmer Lorene Scafaria (her directorial debut) is due in theaters on June 22.
The plot centers on the plight of the forlorn Dodge Petersen (Steve Carell), who, after having been left by his wife, teams up with Penelope "Penny" Lockhart (Keira Knightley) to search for his childhood sweetheart. Knightley and Carrell spark one another's interest as the end of the world looms.
Melanie Lynskey, Gillian Jacobs, Adam Brody, Patton Oswalt, Rob Corddry and Connie Britton co-star.
Scafaria also wrote the screenplay for the Focus Features/Studio Canal distributed film.
"Seeking a Friend for the End of the World" is rated R or language including sexual references, some drug use and brief violence. |
