Cosmopolis |
"Cosmopolis," the noir drama from director David Cronenberg ("Eastern Promises," "A History of Violence") is due in theatres August 17.
The plot of the film centers on billionaire Eric Packer (Robert Pattinson), a young and disaffected asset manager, whose trip to his barber is interrupted, sending him on an odyssey that turns his world upside-down. Jay Baruchel, Paul Giamatti, Kevin Durand and Juliette Binoche co-star.
Peter Howell of the Toronto Star calls the movie "the work of a master filmmaker," while TIME's Richard Corliss opines that it is a "vapid, claustrophobic drama."
Cronenberg wrote the script—based on the book of the same title by Don DeLillo—for the Alfama Films/Kinology/Prospero Pictures/Toronto Antenna production.
"Cosmopolis" is rated R for some strong sexual content including graphic nudity, violence and language. |
