Gingrich was outspent 5 to 1 by Romney, but made a furious last-ditch effort to campaign across Central and Southern Florida. The Georgian, popular in the nothern part of the state, spent most of his time near Orlando and Miami, trying to win over Hispanics and evangelicals.
