Katy Perry released her breakthrough album "One Of The Boys" on June 17, 2008.
The singer, 23 years old at the time of the album's release, had put out a previous LP while still in her teens under her real name, Katy Hudson. That debut disc had been a Christian rock effort, reflecting her religious upbringing.
"One Of The Boys," the first LP released under the name Katy Perry, was a significant change from her first effort. This was evidenced by her first single, "I Kissed A Girl," which climbed to number one on the Billboard 100 and made Perry one of the top stars in pop music.
The album also featured the hit singles "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas."
