Bob Dylan got his first number one album in thirty years with “Modern Times,” which reached the top on September 16, 2006.
The album was Dylan’s first effort since 2001’s “Love and Theft” and was overwhelmingly praised by critics and fans. Dylan had last topped the charts with 1976's "Desire."
"Modern Times" did spark some controversy, however, as the tracks were all credited to Bob Dylan, though some borrowed choruses from older songs, and lines from the poet Henry Timrod were used heavily in the lyrics.
