European Fears Weigh On Sentiment Friday

We are seeing red arrows across the board as fears out of Europe weigh on sentiment. Google said its quarterly profit rose from last year. Microsoft slipped to a fourth quarter loss, hurt mainly by a hefty goodwill impairment charge.
General Electric posted a $3.66 billion net income in the second quarter. In other corporate news, details of Yahoo’s new CEO Marissa Mayer’s contract have been released. And DirecTV has reached an agreement with Viacom.
