Investors Cheer Housing Data Wednesday

The market bounced back as investors cheered the latest read on the housing sector. Existing home sales jumped 7.8% last month. According to the Commerce Department, housing starts increased 2.3% in the month. Shares of Groupon rallied after the daily-deal site launched a mobile payment app. And Goldman Sachs announced tht its long-time chief financial officer, David Viniar, will retire at the end of January.
