"Cliff" Worries Fuel Sell-Off Thursday

Stocks were sharply lower across the board Thursday as ongoing negotiations about the "fiscal cliff" continued to worry investors. Producer prices fell a greater than expected 0.8% last month. A second report from the Labor Department showed that initial jobless claims fell by 29,000 to 343,000 in the week ended December 8th. Meanwhile, retail sales disappointed in November.
