Stocks Extend Losses Thursday

Stocks started and ended the day in the red Thursday, though levels closed off the lows of the session. Jobless claims and leading indicators both came in slightly worse than predicted. Technology stocks plunged after Bank of America downgraded 10 major chip makers. Meanwhile Sears reported a third quarter loss that narrowed from last year.
