The private sector created a better-than-expected 158,000 jobs in October, according to employment data firm ADP, which re-jiggered its formula for this reading. In earnings news, U.S. big box retailer Costco reported strong October sales at established stores. Pfizer has reported quarterly earnings in line with market forecasts. And from the energy sector, ExxonMobil breezed past earnings and revenue forecasts.
