Comcast is the tenth highest tax payer among U.S. companies. During 2016, it paid $5.3 million in taxes, which translated into an effective rate of 37%. This turns out to be the highest effective taxation rate among the ten companies on this list. The corresponding EBIT were $17 billion, with revenues clocked at $80 billion. Comcast Corporation (formerly registered as Comcast Holdings) is an American global telecommunications conglomerate that is the largest broadcasting and cable television company in the world by revenue. It was established in 1963. Despite being publicly traded, Comcast is a family-owned business, with the Roberts family owning a 33% controlling stake and multiple generations serving as company executives. Comcast has been criticized for many reasons, and the company's customer satisfaction often ranks among the lowest in the cable industry.
