Trisha Yearwood has been tapped to host a new, yet-to-be-titled daytime cooking show on the Food Network.
Yearwood is a best-selling cookbook author, having penned the cookbooks Georgia Cooking in an Oklahoma Kitchen and Home Cooking with Trisha Yearwood. She says a lot of the recipes you'll see on the show will be from her cookbooks.
"They're very basic," Yearwood tells The Boot, and "most of the big exotic spices are salt and pepper. They're very easy to make, and it's what we grew up on."
Yearwood went on to say that her new show might be harder than her day job - singing.
"I watch the shows that are regular, the Martha Stewart, Rachael Ray and Paula Deen shows, and there's a real art to being able to do that, and the time it takes to do it -- just learning how to kind of make it look the way it's supposed to look; definitely singing is a lot easier," she said.
The new show is expected to premiere sometime in September.
