Hundreds of thousands people marched through Venezuela's capital Caracas Sunday demanding return of an opposition-leaning RCTV's broadcast license, whose broadcasts was taken off public airwaves this week last year.
A large section of the Venezuelan people are still peeved over President Hugo Chavez's decision not to renew the broadcast license of Radio Caracas Television or RCTV, which had been a vocal critic of his government. RCTV now only airs on cable.
Chavez replaced the network with a state-run channel that regularly broadcasts pro-government propaganda after the Venezuelan president repeatedly accused RCTV of violating broadcasting laws and inciting a failed coup in 2002. RCTV executives have denied any wrongdoing on their part.
