Marilyn Manson has confirmed a role in an upcoming slasher film titled Splatter Sisters, which is being helmed by Pineapple Express director David Gordon Green. The new movie will be the first in a series of 1980s-style horror films and will also star Manson's fiancée Evan Rachel Wood.
"This is a role Marilyn Manson was born to play and, with Evan Rachel Wood bringing dramatic gravity to the ensemble, I have no doubt this will take the horror genre to a new level," Green told Variety after announcing the project at the Cannes Film Festival.
Manson also recently announced that he will soon embark on another film project, Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll, which marks his much anticipated directorial debut. The shock-rocker announced the project back in 2007 but left it on the shelf to work on his last two albums.
In a recent update to his official website, however, it seems Manson is ready to get underway with the film, confirming that the trailer "represents two real twin teaser in ambiguous attitudes and burlesque superstar Dita Von Teese in a nude art."
He added, "The figure with the mask is the artist Gottfried Helnwein medical and character with a bird mask and white gloves by the impresario Lewis Carroll, is Marilyn Manson."
