The clothing line started by Stevie Wonder's wife Kai Milla has reportedly closed its doors after what seemed like a promising start. The label, also called Kai Milla, gained major credibility when first lady Michelle Obama wore one of their designs last year.
According to a report from the New York Post, Milla racked up considerable debts since the label's launch in 2005.
"The company has left many creditors coming after her to be paid for time, service and materials," a source close to Milla tells the Post's gossip column Page Six.
"Modeling agencies, production crews, design assistants, pattern makers, office and store landlords have all been trying to contact her office in Los Angeles and New York for months for payment."
In other news, the "Superstition" legend stayed busy on the live stage this summer, offering headlining sets at the Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester, Tennessee, the U.K.'s Glastonbury and Hard Rock Calling fests, in addition to stops in Norway and Holland.
