Barnes & Noble Inc. (BKS) rose steadily during the first hour of trade Monday and extended its gains late in the afternoon. The stock ended the session higher by 2.07 at $13.41 on above average volume.
Barnes & Noble surged to a 3-week high Monday and re-crossed its 50-day moving average. There were several reports that Jana Partners had acquired a stake in the company.
