Rascal Flatts was joined on stage by Journey at the CMT Music Awards on Wednesday night (June 6). The rock band helped the country trio close out the night with a rendition of the Journey classic, "Don't Stop Believing."

At rehearsals on Tuesday, Rascal Flatts' Jay DeMarcus told a CMT crew, "We've dreamed about collaborating with Journey forever."

Joe Don Rooney added, "It is a little nerve-wracking, but what's cool is to see that these guys are as hungry as ever to perform and to play and to make music."

Gary LeVox concluded, "As a band, they've made some of the most timeless music in music history. So to be able to share the same stage and sing and play with those guys is just a dream come true."

The performance also featured a healthy dose of fireworks and pyrotechnics, as most Rascal Flatts' shows usually do.

Prior to Journey taking the stage, Rascal Flatts also played their hit "Banjo."
