The company expects to report third quarter EPS of $2.00 to $2.10 and lowered its full year forecast to between $6.90 and $7.10, from prior guidance of $7.38 to $7.58. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $2.55 and $7.93.
Humana gapped open sharply lower Tuesday and steadily declined throughout the first 2 hours of trade. The stock closed down by 8.95 at $61.60 on the highest volume of the year. Humana has been falling for the past month and set a new low for the year.
