Taylor Swift has released her new single "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," which will be one of the tracks featured on her fourth studio album, Red, due out October 22.
The country songstress announced the release date of the album during a live web chat from Nashville, Tenn., on Monday, August 13. She explained the reason why she titled it "Red" was due to all the emotions she explores on this album, which took two years to make.
"They're all pretty much about the kind of tumultuous, crazy, insane, intense, semi-toxic relationships that I've experienced in the last two years," she said.
"All those emotions spanning from intense love, intense frustration, jealousy, confusion, all of that, in my mind all those emotions are red. There's nothing in between. There's nothing beige about any of those feelings," she added.
The album is made up of 16 songs, which includes the title track, along with a duet track with British singer Ed Sheeran.
