John Lennon's Former Island Up For Sale

John Lennon's once owned island off the west coast of Ireland is now being put up for sale. Business Week has reported that the small island is being sold for 300,000 euros, which is about $384,000.

Lennon originally bought what is known as "Beatle Island" in 1967, with what many believe the intent was to eventually settle down after he retired:

"I hope we're a nice old couple living off the coast of Ireland or something like that — looking out at our scrapbook of madness," Lennon told Rolling Stone in 1971.

Lennon originally paid $2,700 for the island. Since Lennon never got a chance to accomplish this Yoko Ono obtained the property and then sold it to some farmers in 1984, who are now looking to unload the property.
