Sammy Hagar and James Hetfield of Metallica have organized an unplugged benefit called Acoustic-4-a-Cure in order to raise funds for the Pediatric Cancer Program at the Bay Area's UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital.
The concert will also feature performances from Billie Joe Armstrong of Green Day, producer and musician Scott Mathews, Train's Pat Monahan, guitar shredder Joe Satriani and Heart guitarist Nancy Wilson.
"I've seen firsthand the great work they're doing and how vital community support is," said Hagar of the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital. "I ran the idea of a benefit concert by James, and we quickly had an amazing lineup of artists on board."
Hagar also promised that the concert will feature surprise collaborations between the performers.
Tickets go on sale March 21.
