DAX Inches Lower Ahead Of ZEW Data

German stocks fell modestly on Tuesday as investors awaited fresh developments in U.S.-China trade tensions as well as German ZEW survey results for direction.

The benchmark DAX was down 34 points or 0.29 percent at 11,951 in opening deals after closing 0.2 percent higher in the previous session.

Aareal Bank Group rose over 1 percent. The banking company has reached an agreement on the acquisition of all shares in Dusseldorfer Hypothekenbank AG, following negotiations with the Association of German Banks or Bundesverband Deutscher Banken e.V.
