Finland Industrial Production Rebounds In August

Finland's industrial production increased in August after falling in the previous month, figures from Statistics Finland showed Wednesday.

Industrial output rose 0.2 percent month-over-month in August, in contrast to a 1.6 percent fall in July.

The slight growth in August was mainly driven by a 6.1 percent expansion in chemical industry.

Manufacturing output registered an increase of 0.7 percent, while mining and quarrying output contracted 13.0 percent..

On a yearly basis, growth in industrial production eased to 1.8 percent from 2.3 percent in July.

Another report from the statistical office showed that new orders in manufacturing logged strong growth of 29.7 percent in August, following July's 12.1 percent rise.
