Black & Decker Corp. (BDK) reported fourth quarter EPS of $0.97 Thursday morning, which topped the consensus estimate of $0.67. The company expects to report first quarter EPS of $0.05 to $0.15 and full year 2009 EPS of $1.75 to $2.25. The consensus estimates are for EPS of $0.74 and $3.62 respectively.
Black & Decker Corp. gapped down sharply Thursday and declined for the majority of the afternoon. The stock closed lower by $8.09 at $30.65 on the highest volume of the year. Black & Decker dropped to a new low for the year.
