Though the night largely belonged to Taylor Swift and Michael Jackson, the Black Eyed Peas and Jay-Z both nabbed multiple honors at Sunday's American Music Awards.

The Peas were named the favorite pop/rock band and favorite soul/R&B band. Jay-Z also took two awards, favorite male rap/hip-hop artist and favorite rap/hip-hop album for The Blueprint 3.

Eminem lost out in all four categories in which he was nominated, including artist of the year.

Beyoncé took home the honor for favorite female soul/R&B artist.

The night also saw a performance of "Empire State of Mind" by Hov and Alicia Keys and a solo performance by Keys of her "Try Sleeping with a Broken Heart."

Taylor Swift took home the AMA's top award - one of five trophies she won for the night. Michael Jackson was honored with four AMAs.
