Medtronic Inc. (MDT) reported second quarter EPS of $0.77 Tuesday morning, which beat the consensus estimate of $0.74. The company also increased its full year 2010 EPS forecast to between $3.17 and $3.22, from prior expectations of $3.10 to $3.20.
Medtronic Inc. gapped open sharply higher Tuesday and is now up 2.79 at $43.10. The stock has broken out of a 2-week range and has set a new high for the year.
