Tuesday, Level 3 Communications Inc. (LVLT) said it has been selected to provide content delivery network or CDN services to SevenOne Intermedia GmbH, the multimedia company of ProSiebenSat.1 Group. Level 3's content storage, caching and downloading, and video streaming solution delivers both live and on-demand video content to online viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
Under the terms of this agreement, Level 3 said its CDN services support the online sites of SevenOne Intermedia such as SAT1.de, ProSieben.de, kabeleins.de, N24.de, 9live.de (live streaming) and ran.de. As a multimedia centre of competence for ProSiebenSat.1 Group, SevenOne Intermedia is responsible for a broad range of digital and interactive platforms. It has responsibility for all new media services, including teletext, the Internet, games and mobile services.
