Thursday, Avnet Electronics Marketing Americas business region of Avnet Inc. (AVT) and Opnext Inc. (OPXT) signed a distribution franchise agreement. Under the terms of this agreement, Avnet will distribute Opnext's line of optical products in the Americas.
Avnet, Inc., together with its subsidiaries, distributes electronic components, enterprise computer and storage products, and embedded subsystems worldwide. The company operates in two segments, Electronics Marketing and Technology Solutions.
