A Manhattan State Court Justice has announced that Lil Wayne is due to start his one-year jail sentence on February 9, 2010. The rapper pled guilty to a felony weapons charge in October, stemming from an incident on his tour bus in 2007.
Lil Wayne later accepted a plea bargain to lesser charges that includes a one-year stint in a state prison, the location of which is currently unconfirmed.
Weezy is not, however, throwing in the towel after news of his impending jail time. The rapper's new album, Rebirth, will hit store shelves on February 1, according to Cash Money Records co-founder Birdman.
As a teaser for the upcoming album, the label has released a free download of Lil Wayne's collaboration with Eminem, "Drop The World." The track was produced by Chase N. Cashe and features the rapper putting all haters on notice, saying that he'll "pick the world up and drop it on your fu****g head."
