Lou Reed has developed a special iPhone application that is specifically designed for people who are visually impaired. The app, known as Lou Zoom, costs $1.99 and helps magnify the words on the iPhone.
Lou Zoom "brings style and clarity to your contacts," while allowing you "to read your contact info without squinting," the 67-year-old former Velvet Underground member says.
Reed also gave the app a specially designed look.
"Dramatically set in Helvetica Neue type, this contemporary take on classic Modernist design turns heads as quickly as it dials phone numbers."
Recently, the singer reunited with several of his old bandmates from the Velvet Underground for a special discussion at the New York Public Library about the band, art and New York.
