The celebrity climbing team that set out to summit Mount Kilimanjaro over the weekend has reportedly been slowed by blizzard-like weather conditions.

Movie stars Emile Hirsch and Jessica Biel, along with singers Santigold, Lupe Fiasco and Kenna, took the trek in an effort to raise awareness of the world's water crisis. They are led by climber Elizabeth Gore, who is also an executive with the United Nations Foundation.

"Visibility is only 10 feet in front of you," Gore told People via satellite phone. "And it's cold. I've got six layers on. We're on the hardest route at the fastest pace, but no one has turned back. It's pretty kick a** that all of the climbers have made it all the way. We're all trying to help each other get to the top."

Gore continued on to reveal that Jessica Biel has emerged as the unexpected star of the trip.

"Jess is doing awesome. She continues to bring levity yet seriousness at the same time."
