Spider-Man Musical Producers Offer Refunds

Producers of the ill-fated Spider-Man musical have agreed to offer refunds to ticket buyers due to continued delays in the show's opening date. Spider-Man, which features music composed by U2's Bono and The Edge, was originally slated to open in February but will now begin sometime later in the year.

Ticketmaster will provide the refunds or exchange tickets for any show goers still hoping to catch a glimpse of the $50 million production.

It has been a tough month overall for the otherwise successful Spider-Man franchise. Along with continued delays on the musical, film producers of Spider-Man 4 also announced a split with Tobey Maguire and director Sam Raimi.

The Spider-Man vets reportedly left work on the latest installment due to script issues.

"Working on the Spider-Man movies was the experience of a lifetime for me," Raimi said in a prepared statement. "While we were looking forward to doing a fourth one together, the studio and Marvel have a unique opportunity to take the franchise in a new direction, and I know they will do a terrific job."

Meanwhile, U2 U2 are gearing up to kick off the next leg of their 360° World tour, which will begin in June with a gig at Angels Stadium in Anaheim, California.
