Keyshia Cole and Cleveland Cavaliers star Daniel Gibson have become parents after giving birth to their son, Daniel Hiram Gibson Jr., on Tuesday.
News of Cole's labor broke when her best friend, R&B singer Monica, posted the announcement on her Twitter page.
"Wanted u guys to know I give KC all of your messages & she ALWAYS graciously thanks u," Monica wrote. "Sending her my love especially tonite. That's mygirl."
Cole had been the subject of various birth rumors since February, when she was hospitalized for precautionary reasons.
Cole's first album, The Way It Is, went platinum after its June 2005 release, as did her second album, Just Like You, which was released in September 2007.
Cole began work on her self-titled fourth album last August, which is said to feature collaborations with Krucial Keyz, the Runners, Kanye West and Missy Elliot. It is currently in post-production.
