While the broader markets have given back some ground after seeing an early rally on Friday, significant strength remains visible among health insurance stocks.
The gains by health insurance stocks are driving the Morgan Stanley Healthcare Payor Index up by 1.8 percent. With the gain, the index is moving further off Tuesday's one-month closing low.
Centene (CNC) is posting a standout gain, with the Medicaid coverage provider currently up by 3.5 percent. The gain is lifting Centene further off the five-month closing low it set on Tuesday.
Within the sector, Cigna (CI) and Health Net (HNT) have also shown notable moves to the upside, advancing by 2.3 percent and 2.4 percent, respectively.
Additionally, shares of Humana (HUM) are up by 1.9 percent, with the health insurer currently poised to end the session at its best closing level in over seven months.
