Earnings Watch For October 11 (AA, VOXX, CNBKA)

Alcoa, Inc. (AA) will set the tone for corporate earnings season today. The aluminum producer, the first component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average to announce its quarterly results, is expected to earn $0.22 per share on revenues of $6.24 billion for the third quarter. A year earlier, earnings and revenue were $0.09 per share and $5.29 billion respectively. Lower London Metal Exchange prices and negative currency affected the year-ago results, which were partially offset by higher volumes in Alumina, Flat-Rolled Products, and Engineered Products and Solutions and the continued benefits from Alcoa's Cash Sustainability Program. On the NYSE, AA closed Monday's regular trade at $10.09. (The stock gained nearly 12% in Q1; MA(50)- $11.53; MA(100)- $13.60; 52-wk H/L $18.47/$8.45)

Audiovox Corp. (VOXX) is due to post second-quarter results. In the year-ago quarter, the company reported earnings of $0.05 per share. The company's shares closed Monday's session at $6.00. (The stock declined around 8% in Q1; MA(50)- $6.10; MA(100)- $6.76; 52-wk H/L $8.98/$4.69)

Century BanCorp Inc. (CNBKA) is scheduled to report results for the third quarter. In the prior-year quarter, the company posted profit of $0.56 per share on revenues of $17.31 million. The stock closed Monday at $24.45. (The stock stood almost flat in Q1; MA(50)- $24.80; MA(100)- $25.32; 52-wk H/L $28.91/$20.50)
