"Family Guy" creator Seth MacFarlane admits that there are a few jokes on his controversial animated series that he regrets. In a new interview for the USA network talk show "Out of Character," MacFarlane says he especially regrets a crack he made on the show about the assassination of President John F. Kennedy.
On the show a child is seen running out of a candy store celebrating the purchase of his new President Kennedy Pez dispenser. The dispenser is then shot in the head by a sniper, prompting the child to say: "Good thing I still have my Bobby Kennedy Pez Dispenser."
"There have been jokes that I would have rather we not have done," MacFarlane said. "The JFK Pez Dispenser was something I would probably not do now."
"Family Guy" is renowned for taking pot shots at celebrities and MacFarlane says that not everyone takes the jokes lightly:
Adrien Brody got very upset with me at a party about a joke we made about him," MacFarlane said. "I felt horrible. Because I actually think he's a tremendously gifted actor."
