Pearl Jam guitarist Stone Gossard says that the group is currently recording a new album, also revealing details of the album's tenor.
"The most important thing is that we put something out that continues to expand our boundaries rather than trying to follow what we've done in the past," he told Rolling Stone.
"I think it's a good time to hopefully continue to experiment, and continue to shake it up. So that people can go 'Wow, that's kind of weird for Pearl Jam,' and then 10 years later they can go, 'Oh, that's my favorite period'," he added.
Gossard's comments have led some to conclude that the album will be an experimental one.
He added that the group is "not in a rush" to finish the album, and that there is "no urgency to it."
