Dollar Tree Inc. (DLTR) Fell To A 1-Month Low After Q1 Report

Dollar Tree Inc. (DLTR) reported first quarter net income of $1.00 per share Thursday morning, compared to the $0.82 per share in the previous year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.98. The company expects to report second quarter EPS of $0.87 to $0.93, compared to the consensus estimate of $0.95. The company also increased its full year 2012 EPS forecast to between $4.74 and $4.94, from prior expectations of $4.65 to $4.90. The consensus estimate is for EPS of $4.94.

Dollar Tree gapped open lower Thursday and slipped further going into the close. The stock ended the day down by 6.17 at $95.13, with volume at a 5-month high. Dollar Tree dropped to a one-month low and fell below its 50-day moving average.
