Jack in the Box (JACK) reported second quarter operating earnings of $0.27 per share after the bell Wednesday, compared to $0.12 per share in the prior year. The consensus estimate was for EPS of $0.32. The company also increased its full year 2012 operating EPS forecast to between $1.00 and $1.15, from prior expectations of $0.95 to $1.10.
Jack in the Box gapped open higher Thursday and climbed in early trade, before settling into a range. The stock closed up by 1.11 at $23.56 on the highest volume in nearly 11 months. Jack in the Box broke out to over a one-month high and re-crossed its 50-day moving average.
