The results of the U.K. services PMI have been released at 4:30 am ET. The headline index rose to 53.7 in August, well-above the predicted growth of 51.2 and 51.0 recorded in July.
The pound held steady against its major rivals following the report. As of 4:34 am ET, the British unit was trading at 1.5214 against the Swiss franc, 0.79 against the euro, 1.5843 against the dollar and 124.22 against the yen.
