Nuance Communications Inc. (NUAN) said it would acquire Quantim, the Health Information Management or HIM business of QuadraMed Corp. (QDHC), an information technology solutions provider for the healthcare industry. On working closely with industry partners, Nuance and Quantim would ease healthcare providers' transition to ICD-10, while preserving clinician productivity and document workflows and, most importantly, ensuring the quality of patient care.
The company noted that this accretive transaction would integrate Nuance clinical language understanding or CLU and Quantim Coding Solutions to enhance productivity and ensure accurate reimbursement for healthcare providers.
Nuance plans to deliver CLU-powered CAC solutions quickly into the market within Quantim's integrated, web-based platform to support a more efficient transition to ICD-10 and deliver better financial results for customers.
