Actress Daryl Hannah was arrested on October 4 during a protest against a proposed oil pipeline set for construction in Winnsboro, Texas. She was taken into custody alongside a fellow protester named Eleanor Fairchild.
Hannah's rep Paul Bassis released a statement following the arrest explaining that Fairchild actually owned the property on which the pipeline is slated for construction. He adds that it was purchased from her with knowledge or consent using eminent domain. "Ms Hannah and Ms Fairchild were defending Ms Fairchild's property from eminent domain abuse by TransCanada." Bassis said in a statement.
The "Kill Bill" star was arrested on trespassing and resisting arrest charges. The specific pipeline in question is the Keystone XL pipeline, which stretches from the Texas Gulf Coast to Canada.
