Theravance And GSK Submit Regulatory Application In EU For COPD Compound

Biopharmaceutical firm Theravance Inc. (THRX), along with pharma giant GlaxoSmithKline plc (GSK), Wednesday announced the submission of a regulatory application in the European Union for the investigational once-daily LAMA/LABA combination medicine, UMEC/VI, for patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or COPD.

The companies had previously announced the submission of a regulatory application in the United States for UMEC/VI for patients with COPD, on December 18, 2012. Theravance further said that Regulatory submissions for UMEC/VI are planned in other countries during the course of 2013.
