Romania's Economy Expands 0.2% In Q4

The Romanian economy expanded modestly in the fourth quarter, preliminary data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed Thursday.

Gross domestic product increased a seasonally adjusted 0.2 percent quarter-over-quarter in the fourth quarter.

Compared to the fourth quarter of 2011, on an unadjusted basis, GDP expanded 0.3 percent during the three months ended December 2012.

On an adjusted basis, the annual increase in GDP was 0.1 percent in the fourth quarter. In the whole of 2012, the economy expanded 0.2 percent from a year earlier, the agency said.
