Romania Retail Sales Rise 4.3% In January

Retail Sales in Romania increased from the previous month in January, data released by the National Institute of Statistics showed Tuesday.

Retail Sales volume, excluding motor vehicles and motorcycles, increased a seasonally adjusted 4.3 percent on a monthly basis in January.

Sales of food, beverages and tobacco rose 5.1 percent compared to last year, while sales of automotive fuels in specialized stores moved up 2.3 percent.

Compared to January 2012, trade in the retail sector, on an unadjusted basis, advanced 2.8 percent during the month, data showed.
