Jewel has taken on the music industry, TV and even child entertainment — and now she's taking on Washington. The "Who Will Save Your Soul" songstress sat down with 1SimpleChange.com to speak up for gun control.
"There are different types of gun violence: self-defense, rampage killing and violence solving problems with anger," she said.
"As far as anger shootings, I feel that learning how to problem solve and learning emotional skills is critical," she continued. "I think it isn't something we're always taught within our family units. I hope to help teach my son to deal with frustration, and learn how to problem-solve in healthy ways, so that by the time he's older and not under my wing, he will have some skills. Then when he gets frustrated or when something arises that is confusing for him, he'll find ways of problem-solving and working through it."
Jewel is featured on the page, where parents are invited to get together and share ideas, as a "spotlight voice."
