Grippo Foods Recalls Potato Chips Due To Metal Fragments

Grippo Foods Inc. is recalling all bags and boxes of its Plain Potato Chips, Bar-B-Q Potato Chips, Cheddar Cheese with a touch of Jalapeno Potato Chips, Hot Dill Pickle Potato Chips, Sweet Bermuda Onion Potato chips and Salt & Vinegar Potato Chips due to contamination with metal fragments.

The products subject to recall, which are packaged in bags, have an expiration date of May 20 and before, while the ones packed in 1.5 pound boxes have an expiration date of April 29 and before.

The company initiated the recall after being notified by the Ohio Department of Agriculture that there were metal shavings found in the salt applicator.

The recalled products were distributed to retail markets in Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana and Illinois beginning September 15, 2012 until March 14, 2013.

So far, there have been no reports of illnesses or injury associated with consumption of the recalled products.

Consumers who have purchased the affected products can return them to place of purchase for a refund.
