Iceland Inflation Eases In March

Iceland's inflation slowed notably in March, the latest figures released by Statistics Iceland showed Tuesday.

The rate of inflation, as measured by the consumer price index, eased to 3.9 percent in March from 4.8 percent in February.

Prices of domestic goods and vegetables rose 5.9 percent annually. Costs of agricultural products were 5.7 percent higher than last year. The CPI, excluding housing cost, rose 4.4 percent year-on-year in March.

On a monthly basis, the CPI rose 0.2 percent compared to 1.6 percent increase in February. Excluding housing prices, the CPI was 0.15 percent higher than in February.
